Ok new to the kart thing used to dealing with things that need to be registered and drivers need to be licensed to operate.
Anyway My 8 yo son has a Manco 2 seater with a robin 5hp subaru motor. Heres the deal Engine runs, clutch was smoking so I put a new clutch on it Well it still slips. Decided since the 2piece rear dive wheel was bent along with the hub we should try replaceing it so ordered the one piece and put it on. When the wheel is off the ground it spins its tread off, put a load on it and the clutch starts to slip. Used the old lady as the test pilot all 110LBS of her. So I guess I need to know How in the heck do you check enginge RPM also does anyone have any ideas what the problem may be? Need to get this thing running so the boy can drive it. ANYONE?????????

thanks for the response but what does the idle circuit have to do with wide open throttle? the problem is it won't move under load the clutch won't lock up. any other ideas?

im having the same problem. the clutch obviously works since you bought a new one. it could be that the engine is running at two low a rpm and the clutch wont engage or it is engaging but not enough to move while theres a load on it. my cart is going out in the morning to have the idle adjusted because i can get it close but not perfect.

the fix: dislodge the fuel tank so that you can get to the top of the engine block. there should be a lever assemble that needs adjustment right on top. you know its the right one because it is attached to a small spring which is attached to the butterfly on the throttle and pulls it towards the front of the cart.

Remove governor if its still on? Maybe it's not engaging fully cuz of engine RPM, just a thought.

Is it a single wheel drive? What size of tires on the rear?

Read that completely wrong, thought you ment it was engaging at idle.
