I have the exact same kart I just picked up for 80 bucks, and I too am ditching the briggs and going predator. I have decided to switch all my karts over to the clone engines because they are more reliable and perform better that those finicky old briggs engines

You still have that seat? The old one, because I'm in need of non ripped one.

The orig seat was actually chewed up at the top. Tried to pay some to refurbish it but they hacked it up so I was stuck buying a new one :censored::mad2:

Tried to keep everything as original is possible. Wire wheeled all the hardware, tie rods, pedals etc. worked well for keep cost down. Unfortunately, had to cut the seat bracket down in the back due to the new seat being much shorter than the orig.

Also, I always run my throttle cables mirroring the brakes, on the outside held on with zipties. Always will lol.

How bad was the hackage?

Let's just say that the stitching was no longer centered and the threads and staples started popping as soon as someone sat on it  and they also cut up the seat and tried using it as padding.... it was rough. RIP

So yeah for my first kart restore, I'd say it turned out pretty well for restoring it on the cheap.

Yeah ya know I just ran out how the manufacture ran it. I figured with kids riding it that no harm done with keeping it on the inside.:roflol: LOL :2guns::wai::auto:

how are those slick tires holding up? I just bought a pair for mine and hope they last longer than the treaded tires, 2 sets in a month is rediculous

So far so good! Haven't had much ride time but they seem pretty solid.

just cut the threads for the back piece of the seat, going to cut and sew a new piece on.

Yeah I should have done something similar. RIP to my seat :ack2:

mine has plastic front rims, I have never seen that option. Are they original?
