hey guys, I saw the post about the dune cycle, and saw the one on ebay and it just got me itchin'. So I'm gonna build my own. I have some 1-3/8 and 1-1/4 tubing lying around and I can't think of a better use for it! my question is can I use a 6.5 hp with a cent. clutch 10t with a 72 tooth on the axle with 18" atv tires? the tav's are a little pricey for me. Oh and do you think I'll be able to turn it ok if I go with a straight live axle? I know the original ones had a diff on them.

I just had the same setup on my bike before I got the TAV 30
It'll work, you should get ok acceleration but your top speed will be low. It will work well for an off-road application I would think that it would do well if the bike is light... mine weighs about 150lbs or better but I intended on getting the TAV from the beggining. I saw a link on another thread here somewhere to a gear ratio calculator but I'm not shure where. I think that setup will work for you though.

thanks for the reply, I don't really need too much top speed, and in order to come back from the tracks, I have to climb a 100ft hill that's better than a 45 degree slope.

I don't think you will make it with that cent. clutch. My 6.5hp gokart with a TAV2 will climb a lot of stuff.

****! Your climbing walls man! Yeah, you'll need to collect some currency and get a TAV!

With that TAV and that sprocket you got it'll have enough take off to snap your neck! LOL Climbing walls will be a effortless reality!! It's worth the money!
