Making a GoKart with a Honda GX270 Engine (I need help)

So I was trying to make a GoKart out of a Honda GX270 engine, and I have no clue where to start. The best places to buy parts, the best parts, how to get it to go the fastest, etc. I have been looking for a tutorial or a parts list. I want it to be a "street" go-kart. Not for an indoor/outdoor track. If anyone could help me with where to get materials (preferrable options) and how to make it (not entirely needed) that would be highly apprecieated.

This is the forum end, but if you click "All the Way Home" https://www.diygokarts.com at the top left of the screen, it will take you to the resources page where the plans are. Sounds like a daunting project. For me, I just refurbish old classic Go Karts. My favorite are the Manco karts.

Tell us more about what you envision and remember, the only dumb question is the one you do not ask.

The Honda GX series is a good engine and in such pretty colors.

I would like it to look sort of like the one in this image. Same kind of stearing, accel, and brakes. Overall layout.

If it was me I'd keep an eye on Facespace market place for a used frame or kart. Couple hundred bucks can get you 80-90% percent where you want to be.

I kinda like the "have someone do it for ya" approach. Maybe we can deliver it when its done.

With that having a 1" shaft, you'll want to start with probably a Comet 40 series or possibly a 780 driver and driven, you may get a touch more speed with the 780, but it comes at a steeper cost.

There's over a solid decade or more of builds on here of just about everything under the sun for Go Karts. Go to the build section and just scroll for days.

Unless you're a pretty darn good fabricator, and equally adapt at welding, you'd be a lot better off doing like Hellion suggest in post #3. Find a used frame of your liking and put your engine on it. No, we can't keep an eye out for you. We have no idea where you live, no idea on how far you would travel to buy something, or how much money you want to spend. Between Facebook market place, Craigslist, and offer up it usually doesn't take too long to find something. BUT that only works if you do the looking. Building from scratch is very time consuming, difficult, and expensive.

Absolutely.............not. I don't know you, who you are, where you are, etc. If you have a billion dollars, you can be my friend, but otherwise forget it.

I also live in California ( in the southern part ). California probably has more used go karts for sale than any other three states combined. I have refurbished and hopped up 5 used karts. Checking on the three " For Sale Website " I listed above
I have never needed more than 2 weeks to find something to my liking. And I have always been very specific in what I've been looking for. As so very well stated by Denny, God helps those who help themselves. We are here to help answer any questions you may have, or guide you through problems you may encounter. But you have to be the one to buy and build it.
