Just like the title says, I want to make my motor sound different.. More specifically make it sound something like a Harley. I know it will be difficult because of the way Harley engines are designed to produce that distinct sound. What could I make, modify to get something similar? I was also thinking of trying to make some sort of mini glasspack for it to but then again I maybe not.

:thumbsup:Buy a Harley engine.

Quite a confusing question, that hasn't really been asked before. Maybe you could try a louder exhaust for a better sound:worried2:

Experiment with different sizes of pipe. Go to you local junk yard and look around to stuff.
I have a part of an older vacuum that will make a nice exhaust... Lil over 2ft, about 3in in diameter... its going to be good!

harley will have more displacement, even if you hooked up a harley pipe to a clone it wont be the same.

i found that spray paint cans make good exhaust's, or anything that goes from small diameter(the stock pipe diameter) to a larger pipe like a 3" or 4" will make a nice deep sound

i used a fire extinguisher for an exhaust once

Hey blue, when making the spray can exhaust how do you do it? do you have one pipe with holes going in and then stopping about halfway then weld the other pipe on the other end? or does it go straight through and have holes drilled into it? or?????

hole in the bottom

hole in the top

then push it through and weld a washer or scrap metal to keep it from sliding off the pipe

EDIT:

this is what the fire extinguisher one sounds like.....

Look at different pipes and their designs you need to go from small to larger. Have you ever started anything thats loud it a garage? if not it gets alot louder from the echo. So the larger the better but its no good to go from an inch to a foot very fast it sounds better if it enlarges gradualy. For example if you take 1 inch pipe to somthing thats 4 to somthing thats 8 then to 12 and so on. Checkout megaphone and reverse megaphone designs.

When i was building a header for a 25hp Kaw that I swapped onto an old zero turn, just for kicks I slipped a four foot chunk of copper over one of the tubes and fired it up. It definitely had the "sound". Try running a long straight chunk of pipe. If you like it, then package it onto your cart. Good luck!
