DIY seems to really be slacking it lately... So I'm here to make DIY great again!

Ways to make diy great again..

  1. Make your own parts instead of buy new...
  2. Deep it your self..
  3. Answer every question...
  4. Bye diy stickies and and hand them to people you don't know...
  5. Hand out diy tee shirts at Wallys world...
  6. Bye predator engines...
  7. Buy cheap parts so I'll always be fixing...
  8. Ask lots of stupid questions...
  9. Answer stupid questions with stupid answers
  10. Run your predator as lean as possible...
  11. Run your chain as tight as possible...
  12. Randomly park your kart behind cars so I'll have something to fix...
  13. Spend money on things you don't need...
  14. Eat Adderall...
  15. Post in every tread possible...

If you have any more suggestions or comments about this campaign comment below. :)

DIY is great as is. Might be on the slow end yes, some of the veterans haven't been posting much lately, life and family does matter more than a site. It'll probably pick up here in coming weeks.

Bye Bye predator motors??

How the **** is anyone supposed to build anything without cheap motors. I ain't got the cash for a $350+ Honda.

For 350$ I could get?
1: Honda GX200

OR

1: 50$ Manco Dingo 286 needs work(actually paid that much :D )
2: 70$ for the rental truck to get it home
3: 100$ for Predator 212
4: 10$ new throttle cable
5: 20$ new paint job
6: 50$ new seat
7: 20$ new headrest
8: 25$ various nuts and bolts.
9: 5$ for whatever I want!
(basically an entire go kart, and a GOOD one)

Honestly the $99 Engine at Harbor Freight is the only thing that got me into this Hobby. But because I'm dumb, I spend 7x-10x that much modifying them. Is that Irony? I never use the word cause I never want to misuse it.

What does it matter that were buying predators instead of Hondas. When you replace half the components with billet and all the rest with over-enginnered ones, the blocks are nearly the same in quality, so what gives? When all is said and modified, they come out the same except for 200$ more cash in your hands.

This diy enough for your liking?

Homemade spindles and brackets
Homemade tie rods
Homemade (not yet finished) pedals
Homemade steering shaft and wheel
Homemade frame
Homemade seat
Homemade rear axle and bearing hangers
Homemade exhaust
Repurposed Intek 190 from broken pressure washer

Brakes will be homemade

I think all I've purchased so far is stuff you simply cannot make (practically speaking)

Wheels
Sprocket
eBay tav2
Bearings, bolts, ball joints, etc.

I too agree with about half of your list, and I'd imagine item #14 explains #8,10,11,13, and 15. :lolgoku:

If those tires/wheels are not oven baked, then it is not DIY enough. Ask the Snake Killer.

Mmmmmm...I just love the smell of twice baked HF tires in the evening! Got the HF tire back in the oven at 350°f at full air pressure...(we'll see what happens! )

Well...now I know...just heard an explosion! (Still smells good though!) Back to the drawing board!

Turned the temp down to 180°f and put a just slightly deflated one in...(still playing around with this...it was probably more the air pressure than the temp that caused the failure! ) Might be making enchiladas later on...crossover cooking....Chinese Tex Mex!

The place also needs a few under the table hidden forums for folks who like to chat, but get tired of answering the same questions all the time.

Here's one hidden down under..... You mean like that? Oh, it looks familiar??:D
