Hey Everyone,

My names Ben and I'm from Maine! :D

Ok so lately i got into watching rock crawling and wanted to build a rock crawler... But i figured it would be better to start with a go cart insted!

But yeah that's me!

Also I have two questions while I'm posting this.

1. How or where can you get a transfer case type thing to run the chain from the motor to then into the wheels?

And 2 without said transfer case how would the best way to hook up rear suspention on the rear weels/axles without it making the chain come loose/off?

Thanks!
Ben

Hello Fellow Mainer! What part of sticksville?! :p

Getting transfer cases from snowmobiles and 4 wheelers seem to be the best bet!

There are lots of different ways to get chain drive with suspension, just search the forums here, this is an awesome place!

most sleds dont have transfer cases, just chain cases with a chain and sprockets. Some have reverse, which will have a few gears but its still not really a transfer case.

best way to do independent rear suspension would be to use A-Arms or trailing arms, and small CVs from a car.

Seems I oughta keep my mouth shut! There many more users on here that could help you much more than what I can offer, that's why I came here!

I would start a section under project log, that section gets lots of attention. Start a thread there and you will get all the help you will need!

Cool! Your close to Gorham then! Where do you ride, or have you started riding any go karts yet?

Good luck on the kart!
