Im no expert with gearing, but with the old twin engine race kart i found that its probably an old concession kart, so its not worth much. however, it has a killer stance, and will be a good looking kart when im finished. So, I was thinking 2 212 clones, on floating motor mounts, each with a centrifugal clutch driving a live axle. i know its a lot of motor for a kart this small, but it should be a blast and have torque for days. now onto the advice, where my theory will probably not work :(

the kart when finished will be around 200 lbs or so, hopefully lss, I'm about 220, and it has 11 inch skinny slicks. 18 tooth clutch sprockets, both engines will keep their governors, and i was thinking 40 tooth sprockets on the axle. theoretically it should put me in the 52-53 mph range.

Will the twin 212's push this kind of torque and power? any other suggestions?

Thanks guys

ok, ordered the new tires, they are 4.10/3.50-6 so they are 12.5 inches tall. what kind of speed should i shoot for using two clones? i just figured if one clone can put me at 25 mph or so then two should sufficiently put me around 50 . . . any advice is appreciated.

you think i should gear the same with two engines? what would be the point of having 2 then?

and its all original . . . i can see the welds where things have been repaired, but all other welds appear to be original. it has too big of front and rear bumpers to be a race kart, but its low, has slicks, and dual motor mounts. concession is all i can figure.
