Hi. I’m Mom to an 11 year old little girl with a disability. She is still able to drive her power wheels dune buggy car, but she has outgrown it and is 65lbs, so she is too heavy to be driving around on our acreage without the battery going dead very quickly. We have looked at all of our options for a step up vehicle for her. We drove a Trailmaster Mid this week. She can drive it, but we wouldn’t want her to be alone in it...too fast, not quick enough to break if she needed to, gas smell when running, loud, etc. Ideally, we would have something that is basically a larger, more powerful power wheels type kart that doesn’t exceed 10-15mph. Would it be possible to build a kart that is electric that will go slow, but be large enough to handle her height....she is on the smallest range of a Trailmaster Mid. We have considered a golf cart for her, but again, too fast and would worry that she could tip it.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We are in the Oklahoma City area.

Thank you!

What about an electric golf kart? You can get those used for pretty cheap and they are not too fast.

I'd start with the guts of an electric bike kit, controller, batteries etc and power a small go kart.
