looking for rear swing-arm suspension designs

I am looking for some design ideas from you guys that have built rear suspensions for your karts.

This is a high quality rendering of what I had in mind....

The long red line is the shock. The short red line is the hinge/joint that connects the lower swing arm to the chassis.

Is this something that would work...geometry-wise? It seems that I would need to do some trial and error to get the best travel out of the setup.

Another thought I had was to run the top of the shock to the backside of the chassis, and then down to the swing-arm.....instead of that bar above the engine that is shown in the pic above.

Swing arms are dead simple

It's just a frame hinged to the go kart frame that is supported by shocks

U will need to support the shock mount allot more

Take a bar from the end of the shock mount to the top of the roll bar

Ok. Figured it was pretty simple, just wanted to 'confirm' the basic design/setup.
The shock mount will be adequately braced.
