First off, I’m halfway mechanically inclined, I also have access to most regular shop tools and I can weld/have welders in my shop.
I caught what I thought was a decent deal on a mini buggy. I never had one as a kid, so when I found an adult size buggy that my 6’+ 300lb body could fit in, I jumped on it.
I’ll try to post pictures to show what I have, but it looks like a standard run of the mill mini buggy. All I really know is the engine is made by Howhit.
The story behind me getting it so cheap is that the previous owner let a friend work on it to “clean the carburetor” and someone along the way got mad and cut all the wires, stole the gas tank, and took some cables.
What drew me to this forum is my complete lack of knowledge on these things. I was thinking of buying a predator/Duromax type engine and throwing a torque converter and going from there. My goal is just to be able to ride with my stepkids around a few trails, nothing crazy, just something to play around on that doesn’t require payments. I’ve just gathered that the torque converters on some of the machines don’t like hills, and a friend of mine suggested reworking the engine that’s on there, but the wiring is pretty much junk and I’m intimidated by it.
Any help/advice would be great, and I appreciate it in advance!
