Looking for a PowerWheels replacement

My 5 year old twins have begun to outgrow their PowerWheels Truck so I started doing some investigating into an Electric Go Kart. I live at the top of a hill so my backyard is about an acre made up of 25% flat surface & 75% 5 to 10 degree slope. I was surprised to find very few electric go kart options out there as I don't like the hand controls the Razer Dune Buggy offers and I couldn't find any reviews on the Kids Mini Electric Go Cart . Looking at the specs is the Kids Mini Cart a good Electric Kart or should I start planning to build my own? As this is a DIY forum I can appreciate the irony of that question but if there is an off the shelf electric kart that my kids would enjoy I would prefer to save my nights and weekends to finish the remodeling project I swore to my wife would be done last year.

I appreciate any help/direction you can provide.

To put it in perspective, a 6.5 horsepower engine (which is a common size for a smaller kart meant for adults/large kids) puts out about 4850 watts.

I Googled and found a site where a guy who seemed to know what he was doing measured a stock power wheels motor to have a 36 watt draw under load.

I wouldn't expect much out of it.

Really good feedback. Net/net it would be a baby step up from the powerwheels.

The more I read, the more I am tempted to try to build my own since there doesnt seem to be a good off the shelf electric alternative.

Unfortunately, I missed out on the minimoto and the other craigslist link didnt work.

Since my main motivation for going electric is noise I thought I would ask another question before I started putting my own together, are there any quiet or "low noise" gas options I should consider?

Depends on what you need, really... if you're worried about disturbing neighbors or something, I wouldn't hesitate to knock on their door and ask them if they'd care, you never know. In my experience, most industrial engines are no louder than the ones on push mowers with the stock muffler, with plenty of room to quiet them down if you choose to make your own muffler.

I really feel that standard kart motors are no worse than a lawn mower except for that the rev and aren't a constant whine. Just be courteous and don't kart when you wouldn't mow. That is if noise is the issue.
