Thanks to a forum member, (birdfinatic ), I now have a rack and pinion to put in the '32! I'll be honest, I was skeptical of its condition, since he was giving it away. More hesitant, to send him money for it.....
BUT, I got to say..... WOW! This thing has NO play in it. The gears are in excellent condition. The whole unit is in fantastic shape! With ends on it already! :bannana:
And totop it off, Cameron noticed I haven't been on the forum for a few days, and yes, that's odd for me..... I'm on here at least 12 hours a day.... :lolgoku:
He gave me a jingle, to make sure all was good. Now that's class, folks.... Don't care who you are...... You gotta call it like you see it......
This leads me to my next comment.......
Since this is a forum of people from around the world, we don't really know everything that is going on with others lives. What they've been through, or are going through currently. I'll be the first to admit, Cameron is someone we all seem to pick on, me included. This needs to stop. Today...... And I'll be the first to apologize to Cameron, and anyone else I might have belittled or picked on. It's not cool.
We all are made up of people with different backgrounds, education levels, financial situations, ect..... We all have different levels of mechanical aptitude. What's common sense to me, might be Greek or dutch to you..... Learning capabilities vary as well.
My whole point is, basically, what your mom taught you already....
If you don't have anything nice/good/constructive to say, just keep your pie hole closed. There is no need in being ugly. If you can't add anything constructive to the thread, just stay out of it. ESPECIALLY if you don't like the original poster.
Cameron, you are alright in my book, buddy!
For more reasons than just the rack and pinion.....
Speaking of that, here is a pic.....

Haha good. Glad bonds were made, wounds mended, and all is well.
Jim glad the '32 will carry on. Cameron I was hoping you were going to finish the Malibu, but hey..... Flip it for something more awesome.

You know im either on two things im going to keep it and turn it into something i can be proud of working on (it will be 5 or 6 months till i can ride it ) or i can trade it for a few smaller projects like yard kart's.i would like to be able to enjoy somthing with my gf and my sister as well and having more then one kart would be better then one . I have posted it up on a few sites if it sells then great if it does not then that's ok to everyone is in a big money crunch just like me because of the holidays .

Jim, you'll need to add some bellows to keep crap out of the body of the unit. Didn't all the major suspension makers offer something that would work back in the day?

Yeah, Pat, I was hoping to find something from a Chinese buggy to work. I think the boots, like for "highjackers" brand shocks, would be too large in diameter. It's funny Arc doesn't offer one. I know my crossfire kart has/had factory bellows on its rack and pinion....

Yeah, I thought I said something along those lines a few months ago :lolgoku:

One thing about me is I don't judge anyone until I get to know them, despite what the vast majority think or say; I'll be the first to say, at times, Cameron has been "a bit difficult" to communicate with but, given some time & understanding, he's not a bad kid (we've had a few adults who I WISH would act so well...)

I had a private convo with him a week or so ago... ok, for most of it, he thought I was Jim but, anyhoo... once he realised, we had a joke & a laugh about it & continued & he was thankful for the info I gave him & paid attention to what I was saying...

He wants to learn but, for him, that's not the easiest thing to do...

Stick with it buddy, you'll get there

Definitely not one of my finest moments.....
Unfortunately, I remember that.......
As far as Camerons place here, well, it's right along side of me, and you too. We are all here cuz we get our kicks from karts. We all share a common bond. I hope to keep karting alive as long as they make gas engines..... The ONLY way to do that, is to pass on what we know, to the next generation. Cameron IS the next generation! I'm gonna stick with him and help him when/where I can. It's what I should have been doing all along.
I've had many conversations with him. He ain't bad. He wants to learn. He's respectful . He has ambition. He's not afraid to ask for help.... Man, sounds like good qualities to me, and more the reason to lend a hand.........

OK.....Everyone can exhale now....because...yes...there's no way I wasn't going to reply......

So....let's break it down....first off....I don't hate anyone....but it doesn't mean that WHAT they do doesn't bother me....

Now....I have been banned for the literal context of posts....where....in reality...the INTENT was different......

Now....we are going to change the rules...because WE know the poster has problems?????

And YES Jim.....Everyone is different.....and therefore....the rules of engagement are also.....(people who love in glass houses shouldn't throw stones)....

Soooooo.....What does that mean?????

#1.....If you can't learn....and don't know...then you shouldn't be handing out advice on every other thread......

#2.....Maybe you should read posts 2 or 3 times and actually TRY to comprehend what has been written.....

#3....Show more respect to other members in your posts....because they are not only your elders....but your intellectual superiors as well.....

Sooooo.....the thing is....to the outside world....we have to take actions and posts at face value.....so without a pre-post disclaimer.....he's just another member....and at times....not a very nice one......

RANT OVER.....

I would also like to apologize if i ever offended anyone here as well. That's not my goal here. Thanks Jim for making this thread.
Also, i agree with what everyone has said this far. That IS including Doug. But bird, i would take a good luck at Doug's post as well. Should create less conflict.
