Hi everyone. It been a while since I've gotten on here but I have a new question. I've recently had a lot of trouble getting the lock collars off of the axle and had to use some brute force (and heat) to get those suckers off. After hours of frustration, the collars came off but with a price, and they're toast now. I've brought some new ones in the mail, but in the mean time, I need to find an alternative for them so I can get riding again. I know it seems as if I'm impatient, but I need the kart to haul a few heavy things around before the weekend. Any ideas??

Before you "permanently" install the lock collars that you purchased, brush the inside of the collar or the shaft where the collar will go with Anti Seize. Next time you have to remove them you will have little or no problems. I never install a bearing, pulley, or anything on any shaft on any piece of equipment without using Anti Seize.

I figured everybody knew about Anti Seize but thought I'd throw that out there just in case. That's not a tip, that's life changing advice. LOL

Depending on the brand it may also be called Never Seize.
