What an attention grabber, huh.

Now that I have you here, I’ve got a puzzle for you.

What might cause the oil in my catch can to be nasty, chalky, and milky. But the oil in the crankcase remains a pretty amber color???

Evaporative moisture/oil emulsion emanating from the gasoline or condensation from heated by hot oil.

Off the top of my head....

The catch can is doing it's job. They are supposed to catch crud and not return it to the crankcase.

Where is the can attached to? Valve cover breather? Govoner hole?

Both.

I have a barbed fitting in the governor hole on the top of the block with a hose.
I also have a hose coming off the PCV valve on the valve cover.

Those two "Y" up and go into the catch can.

I think it makes sense. Oil and hot air with water vapor are getting dumped into the catch can. The air cools and water condenses. The water tries to mix with the oil inside the can.

If the PCV was routed back into the intake, perhaps the water does not condense or it gets burned off and doesn't mix with the oil.

So what everybody says makes sense. It seems to be working correctly.

Thank you all very much.

Nothing to see here.
Especially not LIVE NUDE GIRLS!!!!!

I'm not even going to touch that one :D

Fine, then I’ll play Devil’s Advocate.
Everybody should be tasting their used up motor oil.
I got Royal Purple 5W-30 for this winter because it looks delicious.
Taste like Pb, bearings are bad. Taste like Aluminum, Piston is going.

My old company sold X-Ray Flourecense Spectrometers which would only come distant second to the accuracy of my taste test.

Mine always seem to taste like chicken sorry :D

We analyzed chicken too. I guess the amount of Calcium measured in processed chicken products is a good indicator of how much bone and stuff didn’t get filtered out when whole chickens become pink chicken paste.
