live axle stuck

hey all it's been awhile since i've posted but i'm trying to install disc brakes and to do so i need to move my axle to the left or right it doesn't matter it just needs to move which brings me to the problem of i get it to move i've greased every thing removed all the inset screws on the bearings and removed the sprocket and wheel hubs so now all that's left is the two bearings that hold the axle which it should slide through them but it just wont budge any help?

If you are replacing bearings, you can cut them off with an angle grinder.

Have you used a rust penetrating catalyst?

Is there surface rust on the axle at all?

Thank you guys for all the replies so far yes there is some rust on the axle i tryed using alot of PB blaster but that did not seem to work also i do have all the set screws out

If there is rust on the axle then you need to try and get that off first. Use emery paper, wire wheel etc.

Even the smallest amount of rust could stop it from moving. Clean it all up like suggested.
