Live Axle Sprocket

Hey for some reason my chain keeps coming off on my kart. I have a live axle, and i notice that my sprocket keeps shifting after i move it over alittle. When it shifts that when the chain comes off. I also notice when i turn my chain gets tighter like there more tension on the chain when i turn. But i am wondering how to fix this problem? Because i notice that my sprocket will shift, and i have made sure i tighten down the bolts real good. But still no luck

Is the sprocket itself moving on the axle or is the sprocket bent?

The whole sprocket will shift over. But i do not think the sprocket is bent.

Could it be it moves with suspension when turning? If you have suspension ofcourse.

nope because I do not have any suspension.

do you have it aligned correctly originally.

do you have ALL your locking collars and set-screws in place? i think the most-likely cause of the problem is that your axle is sliding, you should be able to fix that easily with a few locking collars near the bearing hangers. or maybe a weld is broken on the engine mounting plate or the bearing hangers.

I fixed my problem. The problem was the axle had shifted over to one side. So there was not equal amount of thread to bolt down the tire good. Witch would cause it to shift making the sprocket shift also.
