How to install lights without a battery. it will be a predator 212

Doubt you can. 212 doesn’t have charging coils so you have to use a battery... as far as I am aware only non hemi can get swapped charging system but it’s expensive and not worth it.

Just buy a cheap little SLA, run LEDs, and recharge every few hours of run time, and you’ll be golden. That’s what I did and it’s great. My pods on the front draw 1.5 amps each, and my battery is somewhere around 10 amp hours I believe. So if I’m drawing 3 amps plus a little more for my taillight, I get 2-3 hours for sure. If that isn’t enough for you, buy a bigger battery or run 2.

1) remove flywheel
2) tap existing mounts for charge coil(s)
3) install charge coils
4) sourcea flywheel that is compatible with the taper of the crank (verify if you have a predator generation 1, 2, and 3). If you cannot source a flywheel that is compatible, you will need to have the taper machined.
5) source a regulator/rectifier that can handle either a single or dual phase AC input, and connect it to the coil output(s)
6) connect lights to the regulator/rectifier DC output for ground and positive.
7) install a switch between the light positive and the regulator rectifier positive output, unless you want the lights to run whenever the engine runs.

OR

spend $15 on a cheap battery. Judging from your short question, you might be the kind of person that likes to cut corners. If i were you, id just get that cheap battery and install it and get a cheap battery charger. LED lights last a long time on batteries.

Agreed! Battery, charger and LED lights. My son can go several days between charges with this setup.

I use the rechargeable headlight / flashlight off of eBay for bicycles.

You can get a 2 pack with chargers for under $20 and they are bright.

i was just trying to make street legal go cart. thought itll be easier to put a alternator or coils on it

I have seen a single wire alternator ran off a live axle to charge a car battery for the karts electric start.. worked pretty good for what it was.

If your trying to make it street legal a charging system would be important...You could likely rig up a starter/generator from an old tractor or golf cart, under-drive it so it doesn't rob too much power from the engine. then you have electric start as well.

I would look into your state laws, if you haven't already. in my state your required to have a battery in case of a breakdown, that way you can run your hazards with the engine off.
