So I've seen yalls lifted mowers and I've been wondering how are you moving that big of tires and is it still a pulley belt setup or chain or real transmission in it?????????
Bolting things together is NEVER the way to go in a DIY project, but if you are going to go really slow and have it welded soon, I suppose it could hold up for a short time. No guarantees though.
I understand where you are coming from but that is not actually correct. Done properly, you can bolt together with the same integrity as welding. ...
Even the highest hp racing engines aren't welded together. ... Which is worse? - A rattling bolt or a shoddy weld? (At least a rattling bolt gives you a little warning.....) But bolting together properly takes some forethought, redesign, proper fasteners, and vigilance to assure safety.
So- with that all said.... a good weld will hold much more reliably with less.weight and outlast the steel around it......
Y'all know the saying that there's a time and place for everything? True here, too. Do not weld that which should be bolted, and do not bolt that which should be welded.
