Yea there good engines, can be mounted underneath by threaded holes like a GX 160 and can also be mounted in a frame at a tilt using the mountings at the side.

These are most likely Honda clones so parts, if needed or wanted, should be relatively simple to lay hands upon. Also, they crank out lots of power and rev high, it will be a beast!

wow, i completely forgot about posting this. i cant really tell from the description, but does this thing have a neutral gear? im assuming it does...cause thatd be sweet if i just had to bolt it on and put a chain from it to the axle...

If you do get it, make sure you drain out the oil it ships with and refill it with good stuff. You may even want to do a crankcase flush to get all traces of the disgusting muck out of the clutch and transmission and other hiding places. I was told by a reliable source that many chinese factories (Lifan included) ship their engines with gear oil in the crankcase, which quickly leads to a lunched motor if you run it as-is. Some other smaller no-name chinese factories even ship their engines with fish oil in the crankcase. Oil is oil, right? :roflol: The chinese also tend to cheap out on their machining lubricant and they don't clean the parts very well before they're assembled, which means a lot of cutting lube ends up on the mating parts of the engine. All kinds of bad!

yeah, i did the same with the powerhorse motor i got from northerntool, it had some really thin oil shipped in it, and just for fun, i put synthetic mobil 1 in it...but i looked at the lifan specs...could it possibly take 8 liters (over 2 gallons) of oil as it says? thats considerably more than the V8 in my silverado takes...

Power horse engines arent made by Lifan.

The 208cc Power horse holds 1/2 quart of oil.
They're big 414cc model holds 1.2 quart.
I found these specs on northers site: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200377914_200377914

Sorry to confuse you, but I was just commenting on the previous oil quality statement. I was just noting that the power horse is made in china and was also shipped with very low quality thin oil.

For the 8 liters, I was talking about the lifan engine, on the eBay page I have a link to it says 8 liter oil capacity.

I dont think youre supposed to run it with the shipping oil, thats just in there to prevent moisture/condensation fouling bearing/machined surfaces.
A full flush and quality synthetic engine oil is a given, anyone who runs one these without flushing the shipping oil needs re-educating. ;)

the oil the engines are shipped with is basically run in oil, its there to run the engine in. but it is better to change the oil straight away. i have run engines with this stock oil for 7 hours running them in and havnt killed any. also if you want more power go for a better carb and high flow exhaust. on my bikes i run 26mm OKO carbs and big bore exhausts. For top end power run an inner rotor kit but for bottom end power and acceleration run a outer rotor kit which is stock on most engines .
