And i got same engine in my pit bike that ive had 2 week (second hand tho) and second gear just gone yesterday, like my buds pit bike thats same engine and hes second gears gone,my cousins with same engine aswell. But on cousins bike 3rd gear went. But we dont ride these like wimps,we f**king smash them all over the fields for few hours on weekends.

Just take it easy with the gears when you get your cart going. And can you not use like a rear sprocket off a 90cc 4 stroke china kids quad as the use same type engine.
Have you bolted the engine down with the 4 bolts that should bolt the foot pegs on engine when the engines sat in a pitbike.hope you no what i mean

is your engine 1 down 3 up? cause this is the only one ive ever seen of a lifan engine being in that arrangement.

and yes i have bolted it down with those 4 bolts

Mine and my mates are 1 down 3 up and my cousins is all up.Fast engines tho and plenty pull.My one now you gotta go from 1st then into second then it makes a mad grinding noise and you can feal the gear in the engine like half griping what it should grip. But soon as you put it in 3rd its sweet then 4th sweet aswell.Ive got 17th front and 36th rear.Makes gears last longer with 17th on front as they come standard with 15th on front.Should be decent in that kart tho.Makesure you post video when its done. Are you putting on one of the noisey pitbike exhaust or quiet one.??

Get longer engine mount bolts and put washers inbetween the engine and the engine mount and that will lift the engine up and maybe tighten the chain up.just an idea.
Is it driving now then?i want to now whats its like.Them engines have more pull than a gx160 engine anyway.Make a gear lever for it by cutting a normal one in half and extending.Let see it go,on a video

And you can run front and back lights for your kart of that engine with battery or not.If you run the lights with no battery then the lights will go from dim to bright when you rev the engine up.But when your engine is just ticking over the lights will still be bright.I no you need a battery for your electric start tho,and when you use a battery your lights will stay same brightness if you rev engine or not.Yours is the engine with the the otherway round stator plate if you now what i mean.On your engine when you take stator plate enigne cover off you can see the stator plate, but on other pit engines you take stator plate cover off then you got to take flywheel off to see the stator plate.Them engine cant run lights.hope you get what i mean.just bit of info

Looking DECENT that bud.Can you not move the original ally engine mount forward to tighten that chain a little. When you put it in gear it will go bit tighter i think, as them engines do that in a bike.Gear lever is looking decent aswell.Run us threw what youve done to it today then, also wheres the tank going and whats the front sprocket off.

haha haven't done anything today on it. thats the stock gear leaver that wont work. yess i will move the alloy mount forwards. the tanks ether goin on the other side of the frame or in the middle were the tank is on it in the pic. i will need to run a fuel pump.

Put tank just above engine some how.Run a thin metal bar under the pit bike tank then bolt tank onto that thin metal bar, then in the middle or the thin metal bar run another bar pointing down then weld it onto kart so the tank above your engine.Mad to explain. Then you can ride it till you get petrol pump sorted out.Coming on now tho in it bud. That gear lever looks like it would work if you seat was in place.
