Anybody here installed a LED lightbar on their kart? My brother in law works at Autozone and can get a decent deal on some LED bars & those small LED cubes. Was thinking of throwing one on the kart. Anybody ever done this?

Can this be done on a 5hp B&S electronic ignition motor? If so, how?

Any info is appreciated!

If this is the motor in your other thread, I'm going to guess no, as it probably doesn't have a charging coil installed.

then as he said.. no charging coil no way to power lights with the engine.

you can still add a battery of course and run the lights from that, it'll last longer than your gas tank I assume ;)

Good question... & response

Yes it is the same motor as my other thread...

In that case, yes you can run LEDs off a battery but, that engine doesn't require a battery, therefore, it does not have a charging coil...

Of course, you can add a battery to the kart & use a solar charging panel to charge the battery during the day so the lights will work at night, however, once the battery dies, so will the lights; the good news is, being LEDs, that should take a few hours...
