Getting a new Coleman BT200X soon and wondered if you could swap out the big, ugly chrome headlamp for a narrow, 6 led strip light? Thanks. Not sure what the charging coil will handle. Thanks

I am assuming 18W per headlight, which means (if my math is right) about a 1.5 amp draw per unit which should work just fine. The biggest problem is going to be pulsing without a voltage regulator (or rectifier). The incandescent bulb is not affected by the pulsing but gets dimmer the slower the engine turns. It still gets the pulsing signal just does not go from dim to bring as fast as a LED so its not visible to the eye.

In short, yes you can run these but I would add a voltage regulator.

Thanks for the response and thought that might be the case. What do I need for a voltage regulator? Thanks again

LED headlamp

Here's what we came up with. Went with a small battery box for trailer break away batteries. Tucked it in between the top and bottom triple clamps. Ran a light switch on lh handlebar and made a small bracket for the LED light. Also a charging plug coming out of the box for a battery tender.
