Lawnboy 4230

Hi Guys
This is my first post here. I just acquired a free lawn boy mower, the model number is 4230.

I googled and checked with www.lawn-boy.com, and I think it is a 1983 or 1984 model, 2 stroke. so I guess I can "use" it horizontally.

But I could not find its horse power rating and cc number.

Anyone knows? I would appreciate the answer.

and so it begins! there is only a few that have these motors and russ is the only one that has finish one yet so ill let him take it from here.but if you plan to build one of these motors it is nice to have the manual downloaded

If the carburetor is a type that can work upsidedown, sideways, or so, then yes you'll be able to use it as a horizontal shaft.

Short answer: Yes, because it is a model 'F' with correct shaft.
It is not simply 'bolt and go'. Series of modifications must be made.

HP is around 4.5. Displacement is 127cc's.

I could tell! Vertical -> Horizontal = Hard for me
