I purchased plans from http://buggies.builtforfun.co.uk and plan to build a lawn tractor. These are no-weld electric vehicles. I spent time looking over the plans and reading a lot on this site. This will have a 14:1 gear ratio and top speed about 8 mph. The only place to run it is my yard, so not going far.

Had an old hand truck and decided to use the nylon truss for a frame. It is small, but just big enough. The plans call for a plywood frame this seemed easier.

Because it will run over cactus and thorns, I chose flat-free tires, they are supposed to have some give to them, but they are like over-inflated tires. No suspension, I may need to add suspension to the seat. (or change the tires) Plans call for two electric motors, one for each rear tire. There are two live axles in the rear. I have not tried to build anything like this before.

Well here's my "knee jerk" reactions. ..... First- you're not too liable to get hurt at 8mph.... BUT -Suspension? Why? If anything- that's the last thing you want and that plastic frame is liable to give you more than you need (or want).....

You want the deck to be as stable and level to ground as possible to get a nice mow.......

Or am I missing something?

Oh wait- yeah- my bad.....NOT MOWING.....Just make sure the cup holders have some suspension and you'll be fine. .......
