So, I was thinking about something for the exhaust for the twin... Seeing as how Id have to make some funky angles and what not...

Would be nice having something that is easy to manipulate around.
With some brackets holding it here and there seems like it would work...

Im thinking the twin will be rotated 180*, the exhaust will already be facing where I would like it, routed through and out the back.

Now the fun part of getting the flywheel off... we have a puller somewhere... just go to find it. Hope it fits.
...and no reason to not put antisieze on the flywheel? I may never take it apart again, but ya never know.

Theres nothing "performance-wise" I can do while it off right?

{EDIT} The key is good. I couldnt see it at first, there was a washed rusted in place covering it.
So I guess its time to take a closer look at the starter...

Fun fun...

{EDIT} So Im down to 2 issues.. one being with the starter. My dad though maybe it just wasnt getting enough power, so maybe a new battery would help. Ive been jumping it off the Jeep.

And 2nd... there is spark in 1 cylinder. How do I know this? Cause I got it running off the other cylinder that has spark!
So thats good I guess. :cheers2:

Don't put anything on the flywheel/crank mating surfaces. Clean and dry. If you like, you could advance the timing a few degrees while you're in there (IF you plan to run it faster).

Make sure starter and ground connections are clean and corrosion-free with good metal-to-metal contact.

If you have spark on one cylinder, the coil's good.

Oh I didnt take the flywheel off, so its all good.

Gonna check the connections and what not tomorrow maybe.

Why wouldnt I be getting spark in one cylinder? I was thinking about swapping out the coil with the other one we found when we got the tractor.... Brand new plugs.

The coil is not separated between the cylinders- in other words, when it fires spark occurs at both plugs simultaneously. It's a waste spark system. If spark is only occurring at one plug, the coil is fine. A wire might be bad, or the plug itself.

I do recall one of the wires having a nick in it, I thought it was just in the rubber insulation.
Ill have to take a closer look.

{EDIT} Oh yeah.. the wire was bad. Im thinking whenever my uncle but the new coil on he didnt get the wire in the right place, it was smashed. Im guessing the wire was severed by the way it looks.
Doah.

Slight progress on the bumper. Crappy welds, but we will see how it goes. Its not a critical part...

The 2 hole you see will be enlarged more, then I will take 2 RR spikes and pound them round and maybe slightly elongate them. Ill pound them through the holes and bend them around into hooks.

Progress!

No not yet, maybe I will try it tonight. Im not too sure it will work, the needle valve seat i have in the carb looks pretty rough. We will see how it goes.

If it doesnt work... my friend recently broke the carb on his tec gokart engine, maybe a chance I can rob the seat from that carb. If not, Ill just have to fork out some $$$.

So I picked up this transmission/gearbox thingamiggy from the junkyard today. Any idea as to who made it? I gave a quick look over it and didnt see anything... Ill look it over harder later.

Also got a nifty round gas tank of an old briggs engine ( :wai: ), and a part to fix out welder im hoping... It works, but it has no fan. I found parts to a lincoln and it looked close so Im hoping it will work out.

Only cost $2, I figure the tank is worth that.

But back to this gearbox, assuming I can use it and all.. Im thinking I can use it on my next mower build... a "racer". Might be fun. :idea2:

Now Im going to go fix something... I hope

Yup its a 3 speed Foote. Jay Rod over at ATLTF chat quickly identified it last night. Thanks for the link though itsid.

Not the best for racing, but they can handle some abuse. It will be for another project... either a mower type, or front engine gokart build... hmmm. :idea2:

Well at any rate...
I cant seem to figure out how to hook the carb back up on this thing. Im thinking it was something like in the first 2 pictures... but I can find any information on how its supposed to go. The picture in the manual isnt clear enough and google is not my friend... :ack2:

{EDIT} All is well. Part ordered to get the Briggs 16hp running. I took the Tec off. Problem solved.
:roflol:

{EDIT2} Turns out I was missing a linkage anyways...
