What engine do you run in your kart?

It's Not Completely Done Yet Because I'm Rebuilding The Motor Because I Didn't Clean The Carbon Deposits On The Top Of The Piston So It Blew up, And Saving Up Money To Buy The Parts, But It's Rotax 399cc Type 401 24Hp Stock

I tried many different types, including the 515.
It blew through (as did others) after a couple hours of run time.
I had the best luck with Permatex Super "300". Still has not failed.

Package is on the way.

Ok Russ and very good to know. I called the Loctite tech hotline just because there are so many different products they offer. I described the head gasket mod and he recommended Loctite PN#30558
I will try and hunt down some Super 300 on my parts run today.

Hey thanks so much man. I can't wait to button up the short block and did you have any tips or pointers for short block reassembly that the manual dosen't cover?

What, wow man thats some displacement you got there!
This is a neat build for sure and its going to pull hard man.

Make sure that engine is locked in that Manco frame with plenty of support.

That sucks that carbon messed up your squish clearence and smacked the piston all to rat crap. Oh btw I really dig your Manco kart and if I'm right is a late 90's single seater live axle Quicksilver right?

Other than strictly following torque specs, I can add nothing else. Make sure seals are straight.

Alright and sounds good Russ. I was thinking of applying a very light skim coat of 515 on the main bearing outer races where they ride in the block, or is this me just thjnking to hard lol.

When I dissasembled the factory built short block, the 515 was applied very lightly.

One sec and I will post pics of my parts that I picked up yesterday and I have a concern that I need to run by you.

So I made the 2hr road trip to pick up my Tillotson HL-334ab carb, 2 foam pod air filters and a billet V stack adapter.

Never clued in when I was at the Kart shop but when I got home I realized that this carb has no choke! What am I to do here?
This is where its get good, I come to this conclusion pretty much right after I finish grinding the mounting holes to fit LB block. Guess what, now its mine for good. I hope I didnt just waste $80 on a carb that will give me grief.

Dont you just love a factory fresh honed cylinder finish, I do lol.

Yep that's about right and I plan on welding a new engine plate to the frame to strength it an. **** it should be fine and when completed it will pull pretty hard since the motor and go Kart is pretty light, the motor is about the weight of a predator 420 13hp or a honda gx390 13hp
And the right side piston took a pretty good beating it also cracked the cylinder so I have to buy a right side /Mag side piston and cylinder, the left side/PTO side is fine I took it to my small engine mechanic and he said it was fine to use so I put it back in
The mag side piston /the side that decided to blow up

And Here Is A Muffler That May Work Well With Your Setup If You Can Attach It To Your Exhaust Pipe And It Comes With A Mount And It's Only Around 30 Dollars On EBay, And It Should Give It A Deep Throaty Sound
http://m.ebay.com/itm/201306853619?nav=SEARCH

That pipe looks sweet man and I dig the dirt bike like looks of it. Reminds me of my FMF Ti powercore on my CRF 450X. Does it come with a headpipe or mid pipe tho?
