lack of engine

Hi, I'm wondering where to get an engine. I'd like about 5hp power vertical benzine engine. Did any of you bought one from the junk yard? Is it posible to find a similar engine in good shape there? Or did you bought a new one? And from what other mechanisms could I get this kind of engine? I thought I could get one from a lawnmower but then I have read that lawnmowers have vertical engines that are not suitable for go karts.

hey i got a 6.5 hp engine from harbor freight for only 130$. its really good for its price and for 30$ more you can get a warranty to get a completey new one for 2 years

yeah the harbor freight motor is quite a deal from what others have said.
