When i bought my new kart the guy i bought it from started it up. It wouldnt idle which i beleive to be a carb prblem. He said the starter has a new battery. I started it one time with the starter and it ran for a little bit but once i let off the throttle it died. I tried starting it a few days later and it seemed like the starter wasnt turning it as strong as it used to and the engine wouldnt even turn over. I took it to get it tested and charged and they said the battery was good. Tried to start after charge and it worked once then went back to not being able to turn the engine over. Any ideas?

First , Clean all the elect. Connections including the battery post and clamps. Then Check the brushes in the starter and clean the armature and the groves in between... if that doesn't work replace the silenoid.

When you shut off your engine, it comes to rest up against the compression stroke, that makes the starters job much more difficult to get things moving.... So before trying to start it, rotate your engine backwards a couple revolutions until you feel it starting to come up against the preveouse compression stroke. Chances are you just have a cheapo/low powered battery and this method will make the starters job much easyer because it builds up some momentum before having to overcome that first compression stroke. Sometimes simply holding the throttle open a bit makes them crank over easyer too.
