Anyone have a suggestion on gear ratio for a KT-100 (787)running a RLV L2 pipe.

Purchased the motor used not sure of the condition yet, but it has apparently been blueprinted at some time. It has C & G stamped on the motor in several places and on the DXL Clutch as well.

I know gearing can be all over the place depending on the course (sprint kart BTW), just looking for a starting point.

If anyone has any info on "C & G" love some background on that as well as I cant find anything on Google.

Thanks for the help.

I'll help with gearing, but I really need more info to give you good advice:

How many teeth does your clutch have??

What top speed would you like to achieve?

Where are you going to be riding/racing your kart?
(post the tracks name/location, or approximate size of parking lot, etcetera you'll be riding at)

Are your back tires around 11" tall?

ps:
You could call/email this company and ask if they used to blueprint kart engines:

Primarily running @ the new Mooresville Motorplex. Its a 3/4 mile sprint track. Clutch drum is 9t, but I'm not married to that. I've regeared enough road race bikes to get it dialed in once I get it on the track, just looking for a starting point.

From what I'm reading a Blueprinted piped KT-100 should spin to around 14.5-15k, that sound right?

BTW, tires are 11"

Thanks
