I just got a Kohler Command Pro 7 engine. Model #CH270-3011. I was looking for a place to attach the throttle cable, but I can't seem to locate a good spot to attach it. It has a throttle lever that sticks in place... the turtle/rabbit thing. It doesn't spring back to the turtle once you let go.

Is there a kit to change this over to what one would need to use a throttle cable and have it "spring back" to the slower speed when you let off the throttle? I imagine that I could rig up some springs somehow and bypass the lever that is there. Just hoping for a simple solution.

There's a pressure washer in there so you need to loose that bolt and it will return back.

That helped and now it springs back, but I am still hunting for a place or way to attach the throttle cable. Any ideas or pictures of someone that has done this with a similar setup?

why don't you do away with the carb set up and do a upgrade and run a mikuni carb.I have a kohler command engine on my kart and she runs well with a different carb set up and eliminate all the unwanted attachments

Yikes! I did a quick search and some of those carbs cost more than the engine did. Any particular online store to check for prices and for one that would fit?

I assume that the throttle cable would attach directly to the carb then?

Hopefully this picture shows better. This the top view, right under the gas tank of the two levers that operate the throttle. I am leaning towards what skillet mentioned earlier of getting a new carb that can directly handle a throttle cable. Now to figure out which one will fit on my engine. And find it for a decent price. I like that it will be part of the mechanism and not something that I rigged up. I don't mind improvising stuff, just not when it comes to safety. And the possibility of a throttle stuck open is not something I want to deal with.
