i think you got that backwards, when you flip open the red case, and flip the switch forward it turns it on, completing the circuit between the magneto and spark plug, then you simply nudge the red cover back a bit it springs shut and turns the switch off, that causes the spark plug to no longer receive electricity from he magneto. anyway its still not the best idea for an emergency kill switch, but it would be fun!

Nope. Flipping the switch on shorts out the magneto.

every magneto has different output prongs (some 1 prong, some 2 prong) but a kill switch is real easy to set up. just get some wire or recycle a old charger or power cable and heat shrink then you can use anything.

i guesse it can be setup that way(prob is lol) i have never seen that though, oh well you learn something new every day!

It is, trust me. Just look at a magneto. Theres the sparkplug wire and a kill switch wire. The negative is ground. Flipping the kill switch grounds the kill switch wire.

you know those old retro 4 strokes kill switch was pressing down a grounded metal flap onto the tip of the sparkplug.

yeah on my home made before i made a kill switch i had to either choke it or pull the spark plug wire off, and usually got shocked.

reminds me of the time i was working on a boat engine. I decided to see if it had a spark by holding the spark plug to a good ground on the block(touching the rubber, not the actual plug). When my uncle started the boat, well, lets just say there was a good spark.:ack2:
