I need help hooking up this kill switch for my friend's go kart. It's a Thunder Kart Lightning model. (just so you know)

I put on a Brand new predator engine on it and need help wiring up the kill switch.

It is a key with two positions (on and off) and is not electric start.

One wire is green and one is white and I need help from you guys to tell me where to hook up the wires. (I already know how to disconnect the Low Oil Sensor)

Thanks,

One wire from the key switch (probably the green one but don't quote me) goes to the engine switch, the other goes to ground/earth.

:iagree:

I agree with Faborman, you simply need to ground your engines kill switch wire to shut the engine off.

I'd suggest leaving the engines original kill switch & wiring all connected, then simply extend the wire you disconnected from your low-oil sensor, and conect that to your karts Ignition switch.

That way you'd have 2 functioning kill switches:
One you can reach while driving, and another you could easily/quickly reach in case your throttle ever stuck wide-open while you were pull-starting the engine...
