i got this kart about a month ago thinking all i needed to do was put on a running engine hop in and go. it came with one but i'm not into fixing old broken engines really, and i had a new 99 cc predator. that motor was too small so i put it back on my minibike and got a predator 212. got it up and running. but now all the problems have presented them selves and the list is long.
-1/2 the comet clutch was missing so i'm using a max torque one for now. need a new driven unit
- need some kind of jack shaft, still researching best/correct unit for this kart
- the axle is bent, now if i could just get it out with out destroying all the components on it
- brakes need upgrading
- and today i discovered the frame is cracked in two places right in front of the engine mount plate. /cry i've never welded

Those cracks in your frame are definately going to have to be fixed by welding. You might have to get someone else to do it for you. You will destroy your frame if you dont.

You say you need a jackshaft. What is your gearing at the moment? Sprocket tooth counts and tyre diameter?

right now it is a 10 tooth centrifugal clutch 60 tooth sprocket and 18" tires(i think)
it's at a neighbors to get frame welded:thumbsup:.

order I'll probably fix it is; frame, axle, brakes then I'll get the torque converter/jack shaft on there, hopefully after that i can start to dial in some engine components. low budget so might take a little while

here's a pictures of the spare parts that came with it,the old motor and the 99cc motor

up and running

I've been busy fixing this go kart I welded the frame and reinforced it best I could, see pics. I purchased a lot of new parts, flexproof axle, 3new bearings, 6 lock rings, new 10" brake disc and caliper, stainless fasteners. Pretty much a whole rear axle except I used the same hubs and sprocket.
It runs really well and the brakes work perfect. i had the axle milled down to match my hubs.
Now that I've driven it. the centrifugal clutch is next to go, i can't see that thing holding up very long. trying to decide if I should get rest of the comet 30 torque converter I have and purchase a jack shaft, or one of those nifty tav2 type that mount to the engine. Pretty sure all i need is a 6 inch driven for the one I have.
