I thought that I should post the results of the winter conversion to the Kiddie Kart.
I started with a donated pair of mis-matched snowmobile skis. The skis were in pretty bad shape. Had to patch some rusty areas and make some custom wear bars. Then I welded a couple of custom hubs that accepted the standard wheel bearings. Now it's as easy as swapping wheels to add the skis. I got some tire chains for the rear tires and they work pretty well.
This is by no means a replacement for an actual snowmobile. In deep snow it still struggles like any wheeled vehicle would. However, I'm pleased with it's performance and look forward to continued improvements. I think that rear suspension is next on the list.
