KC off road lights

looking to hook up a couple of off road KC lights to my sons cart.i had them hooked up to a 12 volt battery source that i robbed out of his little off road truck.but of course it didn't last to long.is there anyway that i can find a 12 source power point on the motor to supply power to the lights. i have a 5 hp tecumseh motor with no starter on it just a pull string.:cheers2:

the alternator goes into a 'regulator rectifier' that keeps the charge into the battery at a constant. you could essentially hook up an alternator completely independant of the engine and have it belt or cog driven off the axle.

in theory.
