I know this thread can be incriminating, but let's continue - shall we...

Anyone else have a problem with shopping carts? I am now on my third shopping cart:oops:

I live in a nice neighborhood, but at the bottom of our hill is the public housing. I have never considered myself better than anyone. It just so happens that the people at the bottom of the hill take the shopping carts from the plaza, bring them home, and never return'em.

I found one in the drainage ditch last year and used it on a kart build.
See pic below.

Then about a month after that there was another cart, well same story...I retrieved it too.

Now last week they finally brought one back I have been wanting:smartass:

One used on a kart, one used as a chair/minibike work station, and one used for my welder:roflol:

Funny thing is there are about 5 more at the bottom of the hill. I will refrain from taking those too.

Anyone else have or use any?

I have a "homeless bag lady costume " so I can just push 'em home in broad daylight!

EDIT: Btw: Best bargain Aldi ever came up with; shopping carts for a quarter! LOL!

I know where there are like 100s of shoping karts.. alongside of street signs and other random bits.. [I know where theres a rusted out shell of a school bus in the bottom of a lake too..] I would grab some of the shopping karts, but without a welder, they are pretty much usless to me.

If I had a welder... you can be darn sure i'd do some shopping kart saddle bags for a motorcycle. lmao

Not a bad idea:idea2:

you know the post that street signs are attached too? Yeah, having one of those ISN'T illegal [taking it from the street sign.. well yeahhh that might be.] but after you've t̶a̶k̶e̶n̶ ̶i̶t̶ found it. its no longer illegal.. too bad they galvanize those things.

there's a local street sign thats in a really bad spot, also the drivers in the area are utter **** drivers [srsly there is no curb, but how do you still manage to plow this thing over?] its in a corner. anyways. people keep hitting it, I swear they replace the thing once every two weeks.. I say just be done with it. Put one of those steel/concrete "stop" bars, meant to keep cars from plowing into people/buildings.. yeah those things. just a really tall one. For the shaft of the sign... AT LEAST they can find who ever keeps running into the **** thing and charge them with reckless driving! Gotta make all that money back spent on all those past signs some how!

It's not exactly great for the ladys... I mean... most don't enjoy you saying "Maybe you should wear red instead of blue, the blue kinda makes you look like blue parrotfish"

its more insulting if they actually know what a blue parrotfish looks like without googling it.

Here ya go: "Baby, do these jeans make my butt look big?" Naw....I think it's the cheesburgers." (Plot your escape route first.)

My welding cart is an old chopped shopping kart.

Used the wheels off another and put them on an old muscle cars seat. Perfect lazy way to work on a car, sit and roll lol.

Tore another apart for misc projects around the house.

Nice idea with the seat.
The wheels are nice. Considering casters cost at least $15.

Well, at least you haven't made a custom campfire grill out of one yet... There's an idea lol! IIRC shopping karts are pretty pricey.

No silly! They are free if you go to the public housing at the bottom of the hill near your "Nice neighborhood":roflol:

You could always return the carts to the "plaza". There's a businessman down there who spends a whole lot of money on shopping carts for his lazy, inconsiderate and ungrateful customers.

I agree and I should.
When I actually take the time to hook it up to my hitch and yank it out of the creek or muddy bank, well it just means I found a use for trash.

Maybe there might be money made in finding and returning those.
When I lived in Florida I used to see people had them in the back of their trucks maybe they were returning them for profit.

Oh yeah, there's a smallish grocery store we frequent not too far from the house who pays a guy every single day to retrieve his carts from the various apartment complexes nearby. These are all second hand carts too. This could spiral into "political" pretty quick, so that's all I will say.
