Well, i've really wanted to make a post and get some feedback so here it is.

I started mid July with a $20 dollar scrap kart combined with some parts i bought from GoPowerSports.

Quick rundown: Got a good 'ol harbor freight 212cc motor and slapped it on. Rode it it around, took a hard turn and ripped the wheel right off the hub. So i repaired it, fixed the steering, put a front bumper bar and some side rails and tried again. This time i was going a bit too fast for the bump coming up and broke the rear frame.

So at that point i said..... time to upgrade. I rebuilt a rear from scratch with a hinge system so i could mount shocks. Then i though ..... i wish this went up hill better too. So i bought a torque converter as well.

Its looking pretty nice and coming together well but the tires i got with it are from a trailer so any suggestion on where to point me towards tires and rims without breaking the bank would be appreciated. Thanks!

Nice work so far. I like what you have done!

Unfortunately with that step down axle. Looks like you need some wheels that are just a bit expensive. But same as before GoPowerSports can take care of you there. And now that you finally joined up here. Discount code for GPS 10% off DIYGOKARTS.

The axle is fine.
you need rims or wheels that are for a stepped down axle GPS has them call ask for Gary.
your metal work looks great. The angle of your shocks is pretty drastic they work better at no more angle that 45 degrees. If they work there fine but there intend to run straight up and down.
talk to GPS about gearing based on the tires you pick.

I'd say good work..

but it looks like you chopped a vintage Rupp A Bone in half.. (ruining upwards of $800)
So, sorry.. personally I'm not a fan tbh ;)
