I need to change the fuel and check for spark.

looks good. thats some good power to :] just dont weigh the kart down to much and i would suggest a belt tensioner(clutch) :] i love them

I borrowed a friend's Troybuilt chipper a few weeks ago, I think that's a Kawasaki motor, and the starter is a P.O.S., I broke it and tore it apart like 5 times, finally modded it for a bigger rope (Rickracerized it), then it worked OK. Might wanna think about a better carb....

just a thought, but you might want to just fix that thing up and sell it and then use the money to buy another engine. I've seen those things sell for alot on craigslist. Unless that 10hp is the exact kind of engine you were looking for.

I've been planning on running a CVT. I plan to run ~25" tires so I'm working on a gear box for more reduction.

It's a briggs 305cc motor and I'm familiar with it so I'm going to hang on to it. It's funny you say to replace the carb. I've been having problems with it. Does anyone have a suggestion on what to go to? I was thinking about getting one from an ATV with similar displacement.

I've been having some trouble getting the OE pulley off of the shaft. I've heated it up and hit it with some PB blaster a few times. My 3 jaw puller only bends the shivs. I'm probably going to cut it off or gouge it to relieve some of the tension.

The air filter was so clogged, I don't know how this thing ran with enough power to seize the chipper bearings. I've taken the bowl off of the carb once to clean out the old gas junk but one of the tubes to the venturi must be clogged because it will only run if I supply the gas/starter fluid. I've been keeping my eye out on ebay for a used atv carb but haven't found any smokin deals yet.

Scored two wheels for the rear. The tires are junk. I want to run 25x9.5 Interco Vampires on these wheels.

Scored a major FREEBIE this week. Basket-o-clutches.

I still need to ID them. Are there any markings to indicate the model besides the six holes on the primaries?

jesus you arent kidding freak, that little 30 series i have just became gold.

those look to be 40 series clutches, might want to get what you can with the name comet stamped on it!

The only thing that says Comet are the belts. I wonder if I have some Chinese knockoffs. Doesn't matter too much, I've seen these clutches work. I'd just like to be able to find parts if necessary.

Are those driven clutches for a tapered or straight shaft?

Scored 3 10" wheels and a gearbox today. The wheels are Douglas Red Labels. I'm going to run two of these in the rear with 25x9.5 Interco Vampires. I bought one vampire so far, I found it on ebay for 43 bucks shipped. Otherwise, I don't have any money in the project yet but I am down a few favors.

The gearbox is in need of an overhaul but it's a good start. It was made by a friend of mine MJBizzle from the east side.

is the output shaft on that chipper engine tapered? I tore one down thinking I was going to use it and it was, meaning couldn't use it with my setup.
