Im gettin there, slowly gathering parts...
For that single seater manco I have, Im not sure it will fit with the kart rods theme with an 11hp with a TC going to a diff with some custom machined axles. Primary goal is wheel peel even with my lean carcass at the wheel :2guns:

Update:

Nothing like a good Saturday morning mockup. It was time to put all the cards on the table & really lay this thing out... in my messy dining room. It's a bit cold outside still so here goes.

The Wachtmeister, the german version of Sarge has finally got an initial look.

And here it is. Sorry about the bad photos, but my phone sucks and the camera is acting strange.

Please keep in mind, this is only a mock up. Things are really just sitting there, some teetering on other things and the nothing is set. This was done to just give the visual on the look and for initial fitting of parts.

yea... I do like how it's gone though.

As usual, I'm sure it'll change here & there but... well, you know me.

Thanks for looking.

Update #2:

With one ready to go together, I pulled out the baroness' stuff and made sure it's all together. I do love this engine.

A few pics of that, then more sorting to make sure the cop car's stuff is all around. I am only missing one brake unit to make all 4 of them runners this year.

Thanks for looking.

Idle chit chat.... with myself here. Reason: Train of thought.

It's a project log folks.

I'm not entirely happy with the wide wheels on Wachtmeister. It doesn't look right with wide wheels. I think we're going back to the tall bigfoots. Seeing I have 4 of em, 2 are for Baroness, 2 go here.

That leaves the wide suckers for U-51 and it's raw steel wheels. Heck, the cop needs to handle anyway if it's gonna chase down the others.

All that's left to complete all four are 2 mini tanks and one set of brakes. I decided to go with the Bendix/asuza ones all around because they work well and haven't failed me yet

So, the plan's on. finish 3 this year after years of swapping, playing around, visualizing... bla bla bla.

Then it's onto the old kart racing trailer I'd built. The plan there, make it the Kartrod trailer that carries all four to that track in the west desert.

Wonder if I can find some other folks to drive the others... that'd be fun. I've got one friend that will do it, he's a crazy one.

.. now I need an airship ticket :(

yes airship... one that doesn't burst into flames preferably, but slowmo dining room equipped zeppelin... since that is the ONLY way to 'voyage' towards this Wachtmeister :D

the engine bay looks awesome.. just like a conspiracy theorist would imagine a Haunebu reactor...
LOVE IT!!

And yes, the baroness' engine is nice... any chance you have another one *wink wink*
Twin engines... you started it... I fell in love, what can I say :D

OH! That's all kinds of fun! Search that phrase Haunebu reactor and you find nifty stuff like this.

OH, the ideas.

Jeebus... how to incorporate this.

Just wait Sid, that was just a mock up. I have ideas for this one that should make it even more of what it's shaping up to be.

Strange.

all kinds of fun indeed!
I had my share of those guys a loooong time ago; I'm good.
(actually some of those have absolutely no sense of humor unfortunately :lolgoku:)

nonetheless... some of the best ideas arise from looking at bad shoops :D

OH btw according to "the documents" (yeah...documents...right ;)) the engine was a
Thule-Tachyonator 7c

just in case you need to name your engine :D

Oh..the name's taken from the 19th century novel "the coming race" by some english gentleman

Presumably from latin virilis (manly, powerful)
there's this legend about a secret society in germany during WWII
well in fact several secret societies, one of which is Vril,
IIRC that's the one -according to the legend- trying to discover the forces of telepathy and telekinesis and basically parapsych through the aether of coming futures.

sidenote: the very same novel is also the reason for conspiracy theorists to claim Nazis believed in some weird hollow earth shirts.. (the Vril-ya from the novel lived underground)
Anywhooo;
basically the same as the russians did in the last Indiana Jones movie...

But luckily this is made up as a "secret society" so all information is vague at best, and that's circularly explained by their secrecy.
Another one is the Thule society .. Thule existed in pre war germany, but lost members faster than you lose money in vegas...
It still was a perfect name for ct's to use here and there; since there are real life traces ;)
unfortunately that was the satanist part of the occult (think hellboy or older Indiana Jones movies ;)) not the sciency part...

Back to Vril;
Those were the elite of the master race...
"THE" smartest humans on planet earth and generally the universe as we know it.
As the legend goes, some of the members of the vril society where evil mad scientists -geniuses of course- so they 'invented' more than just one anti gravity engine.

One based on Victor Schaumberger's design
an actual 'mad' scientist, who by redesigning log transport channels improved their capacity whilst reducing the amount of water needed... truly ingenius
in short he followed nature's rules of "no straight lines"..
later he flipped and claimed he could do the same with air and magnetic waves in a way that he actually build several anti gravity devices in his lab.. all lost of course.
One replica is left in his son's museum... no anti gravity there though.

Another one was the Thule tachyonator.. a humongous disc of 'unknown alloy' blablabla.
Collecting the sun's Neutrinos (when this theory arose, Neutrinos were the #1 tachyon candidate in science) and magically charge them to generate lift like an ionocraft or something.
The wrong name gives a good hint :lolgoku:
Anyway that's in the "documents" for the Haunebu...

And then there was a combination which name I cannot recall.
A similarly huge torus made of an aluminium alloy completely filled with mercury AFAIK.
the inside of course -since it was convenient- friction free based on Schaumberger's work again.
and it's claimed that if there are absolutely no airbubbles trapped and you can rotate
the mercury inside at a certain rate -using electro magnets *cough cough*-
it'll warp the gravity field or rather deflect it to create propulsion.

Sometimes you can tell which engine was used in a Nazi UFO by looking at the bottom..
if it has a large torus sticking out it was the latter, several hemispheres (likely three) the first.
and if it has a rather flat bottom the thule thingy...

Unfortunately, sometimes they depict one and name another so consistency of information is not exactly given... but hey they deal with conspiracies.... so back to circular logic :D

.....which were orange v necks....
very likely...
Although AFAIR the VRIL society logo was purple;
which is still redder than green,
not as yellow as orange I admit,
but then again it's as blue as green is yellow
and therefore it's just as "not red" as orange.

but I admit that's a far fetch but in all secrecy I think that's a clue ;)

That is a COOL intake on the Wachtmeister. Pun intended

Thanks. Home depot flexible plumbing and the utensil basket. It curved real nice over & around the brake drum. We'll see how it all comes together.

I may have stumbled on my next idea today. I was sitting at a red light and saw a fire truck go by.

Hm...

... a firetruck kart? Except more vintage looking. Hm...

Really dude?

"I don't think I've ever seen one" says Kelly to himself.

On other news, I saw something today that would just MAKE one ride that materialized here in photoshop form once.... but hasn't been seen since... and would be just great as part of this army I'm making.

I always wondered what I'd use to build the front, and back pieces...

...of the short bus. You know... little flip out stop sign, stupid kids crossing, etc. Yup.

Warning; Old crappy photoshop job from a while back.

Update:

A fine 55 degree day and some sun... I just had to get out & do something. Not that I did much... just a little cleaning & such, blow off ole Sarge, run it.

Then put the wheels on the Baroness.

I'm thrilled. They make this ride.

Thanks for looking.

Update:

A few-or-so threads back, I'd made some templates to make Manco wheels into something much cooler. Fake Go-Powers.

I got the laser cut discs today and viola!

Check these out.

Of course now, I'm starting to wonder what these will look like on Sarge painted OD green.

Hm... dunno. Will have to do some experimenting.
