I'm still here, just nothing big to report. Gotta wait for some better weather.

In the meantime, I'm working on trailers for the year. One trailer gets to be enclosed for the kart racing this year, and another one becomes my flatbed for utility type stuff.. and hauling the kart rods around.

Also, today is day 38. I quit smoking.

Onward.

Good for you!

Actually now I feel bad having a lit cigarette in my hand :(

Anyways..

It's been a long time since I smoked a cigarette .......

BUT- I smoke these little mini-cigars that look like cigarettes. One reason- cigarettes are like $7 a pack now. I get a carton of these for $16.99.
They have filters and all- I just don't know what to call them- cigar-ettes?

So don't feel too guilty Sid- if Cancer boy is stuff huffin and puffin..... ( make that hackin and puffin- emphysema is starting to try to slow me down ), after 10 years of being diagnosed with both. ......

The good news is I don't drink anymore..........

Then again-I don't drink anyless......:lolgoku:

is it just me, or is everyone just absent/sick/not doing anything here?

The weekend came and with the weather a nice 50+ degrees... and I get that cold everyone else has.

Lovely.

Oh well, I can still do something in the mini-shop.

Clean up that little Honda 3.5HP OHV dealy I got and put it on the semi-of-death to test. This poor engine seemed to serve part of its life in a dirty job... and it took acetone to get this goo off.

cleaned up, we're almost ready to test. Just give me a good weekend and no cold.

yes, that's what we'll do.

As soon as I get the fiberglass work done, we'll paint it up flat black & just leave it that way.

...it's just a test bed anyway.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I've just finished a 56 hour work week in heavy industry. It just took a real personal initiative to get up and do the laundry.......

And less than 8 hours from now, I get to crawl out of bed and do it all over again....

Yeah- I've been up to my neck in it. When I'm not tinkering, I'm researching a couple new (to me) mini-diesels I've managed to lay hands on.

Do we even wat to know what sort of goo we're into here? Best left unsaid?

Update:

Weather getting warmer and I've been collecting parts over the winter so it's about time to whip some of the rides into shape.

Just figured I'd post a tiny update.

Thanks to Grann pann for sending me a little present and a thanks to another friend here (desert duler) for fixing up a set of custom hubs for me.

a pic of one of them. A little old and beat up, but it shines up nicely and usable... and true.

Update:

A good day here and working on things.

1st up, the Semi. Got the back end all squared away, in place, brakes, etc. Just need a chain & some linkage... then on to a seat... then the fiberglass work for the body.

The it was on to... Yes.. Bonneville Spirit.

She's sat long enough and it's time to put her on the road.

Sitting nicely with the Tecumseh and the gearing for the salt flats (20 T driver and a 52T rocket Sprocket in the back) she should be quite the sight when I go out to the salt flats.

Note the nifty front wheels.... they were seen a few threads back and gave it that nifty look I was going for.

Then we have some running gear I've been throwing together for either U51 or The Baroness, I'm not sure yet.

And of course... sitting in my furnace room all cozy, Urban Defiance with a new sticker.

Thanks for looking.

more soon.

Thanks. I love slappin stickers on old Urban Defiance.

Update:

I went with the stock white wheels for Bonneville here. I loved the older weird chrome things so much, they're put aside for the Baroness. She'll have them up front & some killer 6" slicks in the rear.

The other reason... you get all that salt on old... bare... chrome, and it's gonna rust quick.

This frees up all the Tri-Stars for the wheel treatment I've been envisioning... for U51. Hubcaps, baby-baby moons... just wait for it.

Just a few more pieces/parts and we'll see all 5 Kart Rods fulling running this year.

Yea.

Thanks for watching.

But wait... there is another. Stay tuned.
