Looks great..
and the airfilter being almost the size of a second engine I don't think it's too bad for now :D

With a second engine, I think I know what I'd try to do..
but that would require a peek into your "not too magical" shed :D

In short: either a bazooka-esque with a K&N being the grenade you'd need a tip for the airfilter, ah you know how.
or a minigun turret perhaps.
you'd need a car airfilter box long and narrow)
something like this:

and well some smaller pipes and stuff.
I don't know what you have or what you might (no NOT magically...) find while you're waiting for the clutch :D

But I'm sure it'll be a blast (er :D))

See 'Sid? No magic shed with witches in it.

You always say that.. and it starts to smell like "No alien tech on Area 51" ;)

I believe it, when you say you 'just' have a vast amount of thingamabobs and doohickeys laying around, collected over the past decades.

But sometimes...

You kick a box and a disc fell out that looks great on the baroness.. REALLY?!?!

And the very second I think "Well.. the tri-stars look odd on Bonneville Spirit"
I scroll down and whaddya guess..
the centerparts fit the threaded axle just nicely and for some ODD reason you still have 3 more disc brakes that PERFECTLY fit onto the rims..
Four; just enough to cover the rims, have a nice plate for the baroness
(not to mention that it also perfectly matches the air vent circle)
and have one spare,
that.. if I understand the concept correctly,
WILL have a purpose by tomorrow afternoon
just like that... AGAIN!:surrender:

Same thing with the red light on UNIT 51
(51... like in Area fifty...nevermind :stir:)

If that's not magic,
you're the luckiest guy in four wheel history..
something like the King Midas of karts.

LOL. Well... it's all true.

You can't make this stuff up, trust me. I just do it as I go along.

Stay tuned for our next episode.

and wait until I find an old metal garbage can for baroness.

I should just film one day of mine while doing this stuff.

Nite

Sid- it's just so much easier to say "I kicked a box" than " well the Smiths were out and their garage door never does lock that well and I remember seeing these disc brakes when I was "borrowing" an old outboard motor they'll never miss"........:lolgoku:

Well.. it's Kelly...
so if he ever gets into the Smiths' garage without them knowing,
then it is to fix their lawnmower because it made that odd noise the other day ;)

ok ok...

My mower doesn't have a fin. LOL.. if it did, she'd never know it, she's in a wheelchair.

Continuing on...

Update:

I took the whole day trying to figure what was wrong here.

And I found it. That front end. While cool, it's not what I wanted... and it's gotta go.

Why? Sometimes you gotta take a step back to move forward.

2 hours later and 5 stores, I found what I was looking for.

A baking tin.

The mailbox I used I'd found and kept for the funky ribbed metal it was made of. Figured I might use it someday.

That day is today.

Thanks for looking

Now THAT is a perfect fit...
Looks very much like a WWI warbird... I like it.

Don't misunderstand, I liked the -what was it..- light ring of a truck and the air vent jet thing,
but this is a proper prop*er if you ask me  *[ell]

Thanks.

It's now in the final mock-up stages where everything is coming together.

I think the fin will be right behind the driver on the left, the front nozzle will be white too, like the ones I've seen in pictures.

Next to fab up: 1 or 2 machine guns on the right side (black pvc pipe) mounted a few inches up on something on the floor, directly in front of the engine and we'll put the black gunners handle somewhere.

This outta get me pulled over.

Yup

So what's the moral of the story- " When in doubt.....bundt?".:cornut:

Hilarious. Good one man. Weirdly enough, true.

Yes, bundt.

I ended up in a fricken craft store for this surrounded by the Sunday bunch of "knitting mommas" and imagine their faces. A dude, who has no bidness in their store when yarn is on sale... with a tape measure.

9 (NEIN) dollars... for a cake mold... but if it's the right shape, it's the right shape. Sold. "No, I don't want a fricken flyer for your next sale"

Yep. I went to Jo-Ann fabrics the other day to get some high density foam, and some vinyl for a seat.

While they were helpful, I got the feeling they were a wee bit weirded out.

I'm used to it.

Yes. I am tipsy right now. Shhhhhhhh.

P.S. Oh, forgot to comment on the bundt cake thingy.
(comment here)

EDIT: So.... I was a tiny bit embarrassed when I looked here this morning. I was sober. I'm looking at it now.... (not sober), and I am not. Funny how that works, eh? Sorry. "Eh?" is a Canadian thing. Funny how ........, huh?

Ah, Friday. 40+ degrees and melty. Looks like the weekend is shaping up the same way...

... and that means

Update:

Took off early today to get a few honey-do's taken care of and with a spare hour, I rummaged through some remaining parts looking for enough crap to make ole "crash test" here a roller.

In the process of doing all these rides, stuff ends up everywhere so sometimes the runt of the litter ends up outside for the winter... nekkid.

No worries though, I started with crap... and it remained crap over the winter... so we're good.

Anyway, crash test's frame (with functional steering) and some crap I have for it.

I've needed a test bed because I hate taking motors off my babies when I'd just gotten them right.

pics.

Enjoy. Won't be the last update this weekend.

yes, that.

Single axle, dual wheels; the only thing you need to remember is to reverse the road crown bias to keep the largest dia. tires close to the C/L of the kart. That way you minimize the drag/ handling issues of dual wheels (It's also probably the cheapest; look at what you have, and plan accordingly. If you don't have to purchase anything to fix a problem because you designed it out in the first place????).

Hope it helps.... Pat
