Yes.....you might want to look carefully for set-screws..... ( doubtful. .) But the real money is on pure rust...... ( a better welder that some members. .......wait.....what the heck is that mirror for? ????).....

Is the head of the bole a hex? If so, after adding lots of PB Blaster & letting it soak, try working the head back & forth to work the shaft loose...

Also, you now have the added problem that the mushroomed end of the bolt won't fit through the sleeve; you'll need to trim the end before attempting to remove it...

I just want to add this. ...I picked up a 4 1/8" Craftsman joiner..for $10 at a yard sale......the cutterhead was frozen off-center. ...by rust....and this is an indoor tool.... a bit of PB Blaster and 2 days... let me reposition the shaft and cutterhead which were fused in the wrong position by rust......

I had never heard of pb blaster so I went and bought some. I soaked them tonight and tries to work them with no luck, I'm going to let the sit overnight and try them tomorrow.

PB Blaster is like the King of penetrating oil. But any penetrating oil needs time to work. .....it took a long time to make that rust.....give getting rid of it a couple of days. ....

LOL.....Couldn't get a die on there without filing it down first. ...nut ain't happening. ....fortunately. ...it's just a bolt.....so easily replaceable. ...but it may need to be filed just to remove......

OK, so after a week of fighting with the rusted front end I managed to get both a-arms replaced along with the suspension. I also replaced the brake band and all of that seems to work great.

The problem is, I noticed when pushing it out of the garage (backwards) that the chain seemed to make a popping noise.

It looks like the main sprocket is not completely lined up with the small one above it. It almost looks like the chain is slightly crooked at the bottom rear of the large sprocket. It does not seem to cause any issues while driving it. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Yes. ....they need to be aligned ....that will accelerate wear on both the sprockets and chain....and eventually fail .......

Well move what you can.......but actually. ...and this is always hard....trying to judge by pictures. ....but it looks to me....that it's not really an alignment issue.....but a bent axle sprocket. ...raise the kart and roll it over....see if that thing wobbles.....if so....take a BFH....and straighten....
