Alright who else here thinks the EPA should let us have a Karting Package for Engines (Open pipe, K&N Air Filter, Easy Thottle Linkage and Clutch.) Vote you views on this thread's poll.

Why are you trying to get the EPA sued? All they are trying to do is burn less gas! Unless there is actually something stopping you from installing all the goodies on your kart.

And why do you want a flat head? Sure they are cool, but the ohv and ohc designs are far superior.
Thats like saying, I am going to sue because VW no longer make their campervans!

Sued, not anymore, I lost my head again sorry. But making my briggs OHV kart engine come with high back pressure dosen't solve any of these problems. And the Raptor was phased out due to EPA Regulations. I am not sueing briggs they didn't make the choice.

There are a lot of things I miss, that you can't get new anymore. Life's like that. So... Source an old one, and restore it!
Me too.

If the left wing tree huggers get any more love we will only have electric karts in 10 years. All they have to do is convince you it's for the better of the people.

I wonder what an F350 will look like with Obams's 55mpg regulation by 2025? Or the Corvette for that matter. No big deal right? I like when I have no choices but a Chevy Volt.

Look what I just found
Can I make adjustments to the new engines at home?
Consumers should perform routine use and care maintenance
as recommended in the operator’s manual. However,
owners should contact a qualified engine technician
for adjustments not listed in the operator’s manual.
Owners should also be aware that it is against the law to
tamper with an EPA-certified small engine. Tampering
with a certified engine may involve adjusting the fuel or
exhaust system, or changing the engine’s performance so
that it no longer meets the manufacturer’s specifications.
Tampering may increase an engine’s exhaust emissions,
contributing to our air pollution problems. To stop customers
and repair facilities from tampering, manufacturers
have equipped many engines with special caps or plugs
that limit or prevent adjusting the fuel mixture or engine
timing. Removal of these special caps or plugs and
adjustments beyond the manufacturers specified limits are
considered tampering and may subject the violator to a
fine.
Here's the site http://www.epa.gov/otaq/consumer/f98025a.pdf second page.

Normally, I consider myself a good law-abiding citizen. With this one? Get bent. Find me. I'll adjust what I want, when I want. Tough ta-ta's.:furious2:

Ah now I understand. Well they can screw that!
Reccon it applies to my gx160 in the UK with an EPA sticker and a straight pipe? Oops too late :p come and stop me.

That's why loads of these carbs have those f'ing annoying caps over the idle mixture screw. Ergh.

Now I understand why you are a bit pissed off. C'mon EPA, putting a straight pipe on a kart is the least of our worries!
