Kart Dyno

Anyone know where I might run my new toy (or just the engine) on a dyno and the approximate cost? Has anyone here ever actually run their motor on a dyno, or does everyone just guess at power levels?

Would like to baseline it before I go and do anything. Just for kicks...

Try contacting http://www.riverlakeracing.com/about.htm, they should know if anyone has a suitable dyno in the twin citys area. Most any shop that offers go kart race engine blueprinting will have a dyno.

I have an inertia dyno. Works mostly for my vtwins but good for kart motors too.

Ariens/Tecumseh HS40 4 HP

Shipping would cost more than buying a 6.5 clone.

I might have to get her running nice and give it a spray-can rebuild, then call a guy I know that does lots of small engine repair on the side... See if I could trade him my engine +$20 for a Briggs or clone from his inventory.

Slideways, are you in eastern PA? Like closer to Philly? I've been wanting to dyno mine for a while. Now isnt a good time, but its always nice to know where people are.

Should have most of the info there. You'll need a 12t clutch.. or i can use my standard shoe 3/4" #35 chain one. Also need to look at my throttle hookup. I can make pretty much anything work but if you send me a pic it will help.
