kartcalc question

So I've been tinkering with the kartcalc app and there is one aspect that I am trying to figure out. On there you give the go kart weight in kg. I know when you fill out the rest of what's needed to see if your gear ratio works, etc that you can convert to US/Imperial units. The one part that doesn't convert when you do it is kilograms to lbs. So are we supposed to convert the weight from lbs to kg for it or does leaving it as is not matter for the calculation?

Its a very handy app I'll say that since you can pretty much do many different configurations before you spend any money and time on your kart or mini bike.

you're adressing me I assume ..

the lower left corner has a settings button, you can set
wheeldiameter, weight inputs to imperial or metric as well as the speed display on the tach.

On the result screen the weight should convert though if you click the convert button.
If not, please share a screenshot so that I can hopefully detect the issue

And thank you, that was my intention for making it.

PS Could a mod merge this with the kartcalc thread[closed atm] and reopen it please?

That helped a lot. I missed the settings button. I guess if you don't switch weight over when you get the results and you click on Imperial/Metric it'll stay but everything else changes. But I have it figured out now.

EDIT: So when I go to settings and I change everything to Imperial when I do the results, my weight is in LBS then everything else changes to metric.

Ahhhh, yes sorry I forgot;
if you add a kart to your device's database, then that conversion is missing, the database takes only a single value so the other one (whatever is NOT the one you set up) is dropped.
I'll fix that the nxt time I'll deal with the app (I have to do soon since newer ios cannot use the tachometer from the home screen for stupid reasons)

Thanks for clearing this up

It probably didn't help that I usually run my phone's internet incognito which never saves anything. Not sure though. But thanks for coming up with a very helpful app.

incognito isn't an issue (other than you might lose the settings each time you restart the browser)
I think the database should still work persistantly..
Oh wait.. gps.. the tach will need a GPS signal, so yeah you might lose this functionality as well.

but it has nothing to do with the weight conversion issue on saved karts...
that's a design flaw in my code :D

Well this is a thing that happened. Probably my phone acting up but...I was doing another version of a possible setup then the app froze when I hit save for a few seconds then...got 7 of the same setup...uploadfromtaptalk1456950853804.jpg

hehe.. the calculation (at least in parts) is web based.. if you got impatient and clicked "save" a couple of times while your internetconnection was lagging (or my server connection for that matter)...
well, this is what happens, all consecutive requests have been answered ;)

Yes, it should prevent that happening
(and it kind of does... but that's timebased; so there was at least a second between each request)

Sorry, just delete them from your database again, or edit them individually (in case you want to add some more variations ;))
