EDIT: starter fixed, this will now be TWIN POWERED!

I took the transaxle apart and cleaned it, the grease wasnt bad, so i just refilled my container of grease. The gears in the thing are heavy duty, and there bearing everywhere, thrust bearings on the input shafts, each axle shaft is supported by a roller and ball bearing. I was planning on buying some 16" super lug (ag) tires, but there just too expensive so i guess i'll use the 23" turf savers i have.

Differential part, its pretty heavy duty.

The rotor on this is twice the size of the one on your average mower transmission.

Too late, i fixed the starter...

Last night i replaced the brushes, and tried to jump it off my other mower, and it wouldnt turn all the way over, so i said **** it and took the transmission off. I just tried to start the mower i jumped it off of last night, and the battery was almost dead...so i took my moms car over there and jumped it, and it started right up, so it was the brushed all along.

that looks exactly like the dif i have in my transaxle. mine also has the 1 inch axles and the rest of the thing has roller bearings and ball berings for the shafts and my brake rotor looks like yours to. that a 6 speed?

U have an 820, really good transaxle, heavy duty and worth some $$ to lawnmower racers. Mines a 5spd but they come in 5-7spd i believe.

Sounds like you have a very nice shop setup for yourself.

Thank you... it's all shoved into a single garage bay as my other garage bay is "storage". I'm really into tools old and new and have plenty.

For the lathe you were considering, 3-phase power just means you replace the motor with an equal-sized motor that's 1-phase, 120 or 240V depending what you can get cheap and what kind of power you have available.

Baldor is a great motor, and I highly recommend it.

As with all metalworking machines, rigidity is the key to making accurate parts. Rigidity means *heavy*

If you need a mower starter, I have one floating around somewhere. I have no idea what it's from or what it goes to, other than saying it came off a briggs of some kind.

If you want it it's yours.

Yea i was letting this thread die while i make my shifter kart, then i'm gonna work on the free sleds im getting, then i may get this project back on the to-do list.
