Kandi 125cc Go Kart - Cranks / No Start

Hi- Hoping there is someone that may have some advice regarding the latest issue I am having with my kids Kandi 125cc go kart. So long story short the go kart cranks, but will not fire. There is spark on the plug, new spark plug and wire, new starter, new battery. I have tried using starter fluid with no success. The go kart is six months old. It was running fine prior to this issue and died in the middle of one of the kids riding it. Thanks for any assistance you can offer. Alex

Go over and check all the wiring. make sure no breaks or pinching of wires. Check out all safety switches and kill. Something is causing it not to fire so go check on those things....
Some machines have a brake switch, needs to be depressed before starting... might be worth to check...

Thanks, brake switch on this kart...but if I am getting spark there should be no other safety, correct?

It depends on the machine...

The flywheel key could have sheared which throws spark timing out of sync, that's something to look into.

Ok thanks I will check that. Where is the key located on the flywheel usually?

Please post a picture of the engine, different engines could have it located in different locations (so to speak).

I'm out right now but when I get home (in a couple hours) I'll take a picture of what you're looking for, I have a similar engine sitting on the shelf. But if you're inclined, under the side cover that has wires coming out of it is the "rotor" (like a flywheel) and if you're lucky you'll be able to see the slot in the shaft and the key, you're checking to see if the key is in place and intact and that the slots for it are aligned.

Once you take the side cover off (the one with the wires sticking out) you need a 14mm socket and preferably a impact gun to remove the bolt, them you can see the key in the slot. If it's broken it SHOULD be pretty obvious.

You'll also want to verify that the camshaft chain didn't break, you remove the one bolt on the side of the head above the spark plug and then you can pop the cover off the other side and have a look.

You'll also want to verify your engine timing is correct, it's easy to find the info by typing "125cc timing marks" into your favorite search engine.
