just wondering????? axle problem

hi guys,
Ive really came to a reallly confusing stage of building my go cart.
I want to know if you could make a axle with 3/4 dia. hollow steel tubing.
The reason for this is because my wheel have 3/4 inch hubs and I cant find a axle for this.

P.S is welding on the axle a good thing?

I would get bigger hubs and never weld anything to your axle ever

Just use a 3/4 keyed shaft. Now if its a stepped shaft you will have to go off of the original.

Do the hubs have a keyway present?

3/4 solid isn't really sufficient let alone hollow

No, 3/4" hollow tube will twist very easily, add the fact that, once you cut a keyway into it, it will than be open. 3/4" solid bar is ok for a low powered kart but, follow chris' advice, find some 1" hubs...

Yup, try get 1" solid axles. You could get one that steps down to 3/4 at the ends.

AND NEVER WELD TO AN AXLE!!!!!!!!!!

Might buy different hubs

My hubs have no key ways btw

U have no Chioce in buying new hubs

If they are dead axle hubs
Ie have bearings

They can't be used in a solid axle
