I've had a few mini bikes in the past, they usually recieved a 5.0 Honda and an off the shelf clutch. But now that I have a little more of a budget I'd like to make this one a little nicer.

Right now it's all stock, but I'm considering a few options. A torque converter (easy and quick), taking the jackshaft off and running a longer chain and swapping the rear sprocket, or swapping out for a 110cc semi auto pitbike engine, I'm pretty decent with a welder and wiring isnt too bad.

My goals are to have more usable power, but keep it safe for everyone to ride. I'd also like to have lights, and my current engine doesn't have any way to power a headlight.

That does sound pretty great. I've been trying to find a cheap donor bike in rough shape.

I'm trying to keep this project under $150 or so. But all the cheap bikes sell so fast. I do have a gy6 laying around but it's a little too big.

Im all for pit bike swaps but id do it with a smaller frame the coleman doesnt fit the idea of fast but they are much better for offroad and trail riding so torque converter.

I plan on using this bike for big camping trips. We usually go out dirtbike riding for a few days. The mini bike would mostly be a cruiser. And terrorizing the neighborhood would be another part time job.

I'm still undecided, the cost is about the same for the two main options. Torque converter and performance parts, or junk pitbike.

stage 1 and a China torque converter and I'm hitting 51 mph. I'm about 185 ish. It does a great job terrorizing my neighborhood.
